Timehri man arrested, charged with narcotics possession

A Timehri, East Bank Demerara man was yesterday (Wednesday) arrested and charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
According to a police report, Ramanand Latchman, 35, was walking along the Vreed-en-Hoop Public Road, West Coast Demerara, with a haversack on his back, and upon seeing a uniformed policeman, began to act in a suspicious manner which prompted the police to conduct a search. The illegal substance (five hundred and fifty grams of cannabis) was found in the suspect’s haversack.
He is expected to appear at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court today to answer to the charge.
