Three males including a 16-year-old from Best Village, West Coast Demerara are in the centre of a rape investigation involving a 15-year-old school girl back in June on the East Bank of Demerara.
Police stated that Matthew Burnett also called Delwyn, a 24-year-old taxi driver from Diamond New Scheme, EBD along with Rakchand Harnath also known as Kevin, a 30-year-old taxi driver from Best Village, WCD and the juvenile were being questioned in connection with the allegation.
Investigations revealed that the female student and the suspects are known to each other and would frequently communicate with them via WhatsApp.
The victim admitted that she had intercourse with them on different occasions. However, she told detectives that the suspects had recorded videos of her having sex with them without her knowledge and threatened to post them on social media.
The matter is engaging the attention of the Child Care and Protection Agency.
