“Tear Drop” slapped with robbery charge, granted $75,000 bail

A young man, who went viral on social media mid 2016 as a “budding” singer, was earlier today (Wednesday) slapped with a robbery charge when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Twenty-three-year-old Leon Clarke- alias “Tear Drop”- pleaded not guilty when he was read the charge by the Magistrate.

Clarke is being accused of breaking into the home of an East La Penitence resident; Vincent Howard, and robbing him of approximately $1.1M in cash, GTT and Digicel phone cards and Scratch tickets.

The accused was positively identified as the young man, whose music videos took Facebook by storm for a short period last year, resulting in him being placed in the spotlight by a few media outlets as he proclaimed himself a “future singer from the Ghetto.”

Clarke was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 and he is expected to return to court on October 4.
