“Coming Together for World Peace” was chosen as the theme for the Rotary Club of Stabroek’s 2025 Peace Poster Competition. This activity is an annual celebration of Rotary’s World Understanding Month traditionally observed during the month of February. Rotary’s 120th anniversary was celebrated on February 23, 2025, now designated World Understanding and Peace Day, commemorating the first Rotary meeting held in 1905.
The competition which is in its 11th year, promotes Rotary’s continued quest for goodwill, peace and understanding in the world. The competition was executed in collaboration with Nextech Incorporated that cosponsored the event. The competition was also hosted live in Nextech’s showroom.
The participants who were students aged 12-15 were required to interpret the theme and visually depict their interpretation using artwork within a two-hour timeframe on 30 cm x 40 cm canvas. Posters were judged by a panel of judges for creativity, quality, expression of the theme and an explanation of the artwork.
