Sparta Boss and Brazil’s Road Warriors will meet in what is sure to be a blockbuster clash this Saturday, after both teams pulled off high-scoring victories in the ‘June Madness’ semifinals in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The Cliff Anderson’s Sports Hall was buzzing with anticipation on Tuesday night as the penultimate game-day of the Culture, Youth and Sport Ministry- sponsored ‘June Madness’ unfolded with riveting Futsal action.

Before the feature matches of the evening, Amanda McKenzie had a scoring spree in the Women’s Championships, leading the Lioness to a 5-0 victory over Tucville Terrorists.

McKenzie found the back of the net in the 3rd, 10th, 13th, 14th and 18th minutes for all five goals. Road Warriors, however, came from behind a 3-goal deficit to defeat Gold is Money, thus booking a spot in Saturday’s final.

Randolph Wagner was on fire for Gold is Money, striking in the 8th, 9th and 13th minutes, before Duarte DaSilva pulled the first one back for the Brazilians in the 13th. Wendrecky De Souza’s brace in the 16th and 17th then levelled things up between the two sides. But Road Warriors later had the last say in the first half as Arckson Andreazza pushed the score to 4-3 before the break.

In the second segment, Da Silva completed his hattrick in the 23rd and 40th minutes while one each from Joao De Souza (26th) and Luis Da Silva (29th) and an own goal in the 35th propelled their tally to 9.

For Gold is Money, Wagner completed his helmet trick in the 28th and Shemar Koulen’s (24thh) solitary strike brought them up to 5.

Later, the second semifinal saw Sparta Boss downing rivals Back Circle ‘A’ 8-3. Curtez Kellman, in excellent rhythm, gave Sparta a dream start with three goals in the 5th, 7th and 15th minutes. After the break, Nicholas MacArthur and Darron Niles found the back of the net to push Sparta’s tally to 5.

It was then that Back Circle ‘A’ attempted a comeback, as Chris Macey netted a yellow ball goal -which accounts for two- in the 24th, followed by a Stephon Reynolds strike in the 31st.

However, Kellman beat the keeper again in the 32nd, Niles completed his brace in the 39th and Kelsey Benjamin hit one back in the 40th for Sparta’s win. ‘June madness’ will culminate this Saturday at the same venue with both Men’s and Women’s finals.
