Sooba calls for removal of minibuses, cars from Stabroek area

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Town Clerk, Carol Sooba is calling on the relevant authorities to remove the minibus and car parks from the Stabroek area.

She believes that this will reduce the indiscriminate dumping of garbage and alleged illegal activities in that section of Georgetown. Sooba explained that on Wednesday evening (January 15), the Mayor and City Council executed an operation in the area, which saw the dismantling of several illegal structures.

In relation to the growing solid waste crisis facing the country, the Council believes that an aggressive education programme needs to be implemented in an effort to encourage change in the behaviour of the people in the Capital City.
