Soldier dead, two others injured in Mandela Ave. accident

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Guyana Defence Force officer died while two others remain patients at the Georgetown Public Hospital following their involvement in a vehicular accident Friday afternoon, November 1 on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.

Dead is Lt. Col, Ronald Gonsalves of Linden, Region Ten, while John Flores Jr and Antonio Eastman both of Georgetown sustained injuries about the body, hospital officials confirmed.

The injured is said to be resting stably at the institution. iNews understand that the incident occurred at approximately 14:30hrs, the trio was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Gonsalves succumb approximately three hours later reportedly to internal injuries.Accident (1)

The car that the three men were traveling in is believed to have lost control at the hands of the driver Eastman resulting in it crashing into and uprooting a lantern pole.
