Rose Hall Town crush GPF in BCB 1st division tournament

A youthful Rose Hall Town Namilco Thunderbolt Flour first division team on Saturday defeated the Police Team by an innings and 179 runs in the BCB two-day tournament at the Area H Ground. 

Police won the toss and batted first. They were bundled out for 33 with 24-year-old left-arm spinner, Keith Simpson taking 5 for 13 from six overs while national off-spinner, Junior Sinclair took 4 for 11. 

The home team in response reached 301 for 2 declared with Sinclair blasting 13 boundaries and 15 sixes in his brutal innings of 206 not out. 

Mathew Pottaya was unbeaten in 45 while Romesh Bharrat 35 and Javed Karim 12 were the batsmen dismissed. 

With a deficit of 268 runs on first innings,Police fared a little better in their second innings,scoring 89 all out. 

Philbert Wilburg top score with a fighting 31 not out while Burton chipped in with a solid, 25. 

National selectee Slyus Tyndall took 3 for 19, Javed Karim 1 for 16 while Simpson took 5 for 25 to end with match figures of ten wickets for 38. (Hilbert Foster)
