Religious bodies, NGOs should not be involved in politics – iNews Poll

Pie Chart[www.inewsguyana.com] – A large number of participants in the iNews Poll do not believe that religious bodies and non – governmental organisations (NGOs) should be involved in politics.

iNews in its recent poll had asked, “Do you think that religious bodies and non – governmental organisations (NGOs) should be involved in politics?”

During a week of voting on its website (www.inewsguyana.com) a total of 60 percent of participants said “no”, 36 percent said “yes” and a mere four percent of persons were undecided.

There are a large number of NGOs in Guyana fighting different causes, ranging from HIV/AIDS Stigma and Discrimination, Human Rights and Domestic violence, among others.

There are also the various religious bodies.
