Ranks equipped with tint meters as GPF prepares to enforce new regulations from tomorrow

The Guyana Police Force is advising all motorists that strict enforcement of vehicle tint regulations will take effect from 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

Under the regulations, 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐫 (𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤) 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝟐𝟎% 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐕𝐋𝐓), while 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟓% 𝐕𝐋𝐓, including the permitted six (6) inch visor. These measures are designed to improve visibility and enhance road safety for all users.

Motorists found operating vehicles that are non-compliant with the legislation will be 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭.

Traffic Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mahendra Singh, is urging all citizens to ensure their vehicles are fully compliant ahead of the enforcement date. He further advised that authorised traffic ranks will be equipped with 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 to facilitate on-the-spot testing, as public awareness and compliance remain key priorities.
