Queen’s College student is Guyana’s top performer at CSEC

Sixteen year old, Christian Pile, a student of Guyana’s premier secondary school, Queen’s College will later today be announced as the top performer at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examination (CSEC).

Pile who placed second in the country in the year 2013, when he sat the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) was able to secure 19 grade ones.

The subjects he wrote are Geography, Religious Education, Physical Education, Information Technology, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Electronic Documentation Processing and Management, Principles of Business, Human and Social Biology, Spanish, Integrated Science, History, Social Studies and Agriculture Science.

The official result of the examination is expected to be released later today by the Ministry of Education at a forum to be held at Georgetown National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD).

Pile told the media during an interview yesterday that his performance came as a result of hard work and dedication.
