The Ministry of Health wishes to address a recent incident that occurred at one of our regional hospitals involving two individuals engaged in inappropriate conduct on the premises.
We wish to clarify that the individuals involved are not employees of the Ministry of Health. They were employed by a private security and general services firm, respectively, that is contracted to provide services at the facility.
Following the incident, both individuals have been released from their positions and are no longer assigned to duties at the hospital. The Ministry has also engaged with the contracted companies to review its oversight protocols and ensure that professional standards are upheld at all times.
