Pres. Ali sets November 3 for opening of 13th Parliament

President Dr Irfaan Ali has issued a proclamation announcing the first sitting of the 13th Parliament of Guyana, which will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025.

In a live broadcast today, President Ali announced that the Arthur Chung Conference Centre will serve as the venue for the opening ceremony as well as subsequent sittings of the National Assembly.

Clerk of the National Assembly Sherlock Isaacs confirmed that he has received the names of all 65 Members of Parliament (MPs) to be appointed.

The parties to be represented in the National Assembly are the ruling Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) with 36 seats, We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) with 16, the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) with 12, and Forward Guyana Movement (FGM) with 1.

At that first session, the members would take their Oath of Office and the Speaker of the National Assembly would be elected.
