Over the next five years, the Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) intends to expand the housing programme, working to ensure it eliminates the backlog of applications in all regions, and fast-track all pending housing applications.

It also intends to focus heavily on the construction of new homes through the provision of direct assistance to build, especially to the most vulnerable families; accelerated construction of core homes; accelerated construction of young professional homes; and continued provision of incentives to encourage affordable home construction, all with the aim of constructing 40,000 new homes over the next five years.

The party also committed to continue regularising any remaining informal settlements to provide residents with legal ownership and improved living conditions.

The upgrade of existing communities with concrete drains, street lights, recreational spaces, and security cameras is also in the party’s manifesto plans for the next five years.

These plans are outlined in the party’s 2025 manifesto which was launched today.
