Police are trying to find the alleged mother of a baby who was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) in an unconscious state late Wednesday night.

This is according to Crime Chief, Wendell Blanhum during a telephone interview with Inews on Thursday morning.
Blanhum said that the baby was taken to the hospital at around 22:00hrs, by an unidentified woman who told doctors that the baby was not breathing.
Inews understands that following examinations, doctors confirmed that the child had been dead for an hour prior to being brought to the medical facility.
However, when the medical practitioners sought to question the alleged mother, she was long gone.
The Crime Chief relayed that police have gathered information regarding her whereabouts and are working diligently to locate her. (Ramona Luthi)
