Police in Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) are investigating an alleged domestic violence issue that occurred at Leguan.
The suspect in the matter, Orwin Rankin, a speed boat captain, was arrested this morning.
The incident was highlighted by the victim’s mother, Sharmilla Dhanraj on Facebook.
In a post which included a photo of the victim bleeding from her face, the woman said, “I’m begging for help for my daughter…This is Leguan and nothing don’t hide I know everyone knows my daughter Selina, she’s a mom of 3 kids and she’s been living with Orin Rankin aka Kang he did this to her tonight.”
“Regardless of what no woman deserves to be treated this way by a man…I’m not in Guyana and I don’t have anyone to help me..I’m pleading 🙏 with anyone who would be kind enough to point me in the right direction to get help for my daughter a phone number or anything I would really appreciate it,” the post continued.
