Ranks of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and gunmen moments ago were involved in a shootout at a hotel located at Ogle, East Coast of Demerara (ECD).
According to a Police source, one of the gunmen has been shot and is presently en-route to the hospital under heavy police guard. Meanwhile, four others have been arrested.
INews was told that from all indications a drug deal was in progress at the said hotel when law enforcement officials got a tip-off and swooped down at the establishment.
The Police source added that this hotel has been under the radar for some time now since it is believed to be a transit point for drug dealers.
