Commissioner of Police [ag], Leroy Brumell says that the Police Force is taking the recent spate of domestic violence very seriously.

The Police Commissioner told reporters that while the police try its best to assist in the fight against such violence, a greater role has to be played by the general public.

He explained that the Police Force continues to enforce the law by breaking up street crimes.

In his response to questions about numerous reports of gangs in various communities that plan illegal activities, Brumell says the force is not targeting any particular community.

And on the question of the $17 million robbery on Thursday, involving staff of Toolsie Persaud Ltd, Brumell says an investigation into the matter is ongoing.

He also used the opportunity to restate his call for businesses to remain conscious of the need for security at all times. [Nickhail Jaundoo]
