Police bust Berbice taxi driver with over 3 kilos of compressed cannabis

Acting on intelligence, police in ‘C’ Division on Wednesday about 12:30hrs intercepted a Georgetown-bound hire car, HC 6444, on the Cove and John Public Road and conducted a search.

According to information from the police, a bag, containing eight taped parcels of compressed cannabis weighing in excess of three and a half kilograms, was found.

The driver, Eusi Wilson, 47, of Edinburgh, East Bank Berbice has since been charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

He is expected to appear before the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
