Garbage[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Ministers of Public Works, Natural Resources and the Environment and Local Government and Regional Development have met and agreed on the broad outlines of the $1B which was approved under the 2014 National Budget for the national clean up exercise.

This is according to Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Norman Whittaker, who at a press conference on Thursday, April 17, stressed the importance of the sustenance of the project and the various communities buying into it.

Areas of focus include road side drains, parapets and alleyways, main canals, public open spaces and cemeteries.

Whittaker noted that they are also seeking the involvement of other stakeholders, including the private sector.
