[www.inewsguyana.com]  Defending champion Robin Persaud successfully defended his Laparkan Holdings Limited 11-race programme on the inner circuit of the National Park on Sunday.

Persaud out sprinted a few other competitors to win the 35 lap featured event in a time of one hour, 17mins, 53.82s which was faster than his time last year of 1 hour, 18 minutes, 16s.

Christopher Holder finished in a close second while Paul Choo Wee Nam was third and Mark Harris fourth. Alzono Greeves rounded out the top five riders.

Other winners of the day included Amonika Gomes (BMX Boys and Girls 12-14), Jaikarran Sukhai (Veterans Under-50), Linden Blackman (Veterans Over-50), Monty Parris (Veterans Over-60), Jamal John (Juveniles) and Jeremiah Harrison (BMX 6-9).

The event was uses as a tune up for the upcoming five stage set for later this month.
