The initiative allows complainants such as citizens and contractors to share their grievances and report deficiencies or dangers in construction sites and/or within communities.

As such, the hotline number (592) 624-2964 is now in effect, to ensure efficiency and timely resolution to reports and complaints made by citizens.
This dedicated 24hr WhatsApp hotline can be utilized for the following purposes:
1. 3. Reports can be made about the illegal construction of structures including shacks, buildings, billboards etc. along the road shoulders of highways and main access roads. Please be advised, the removal of these said structures will be at the expense of the identified owner
A similar hotline was established for contractors who may have issues and/or queries as it relates to their assigned project, concerns about payment and/or any other construction related issues.
Contractors are advised to do so via the dedicated hotline (592) 624-2965.
Since the launch of the two (2) numbers, the Ministry has received an overwhelming number of reports. These range from road and bridge concerns, encroachment along the roadways and on the government reserves, as well as, abandoned and derelict vehicles.
Minister of Public Works Hon. Bishop Juan Edghill reemphasized the importance of the initiative.
“It is one way of improving citizen satisfaction, ensuring efficiency and implementing government programs in a manner that benefits the people. And this will be a cell number that you could post pictures and messages to, and this will be addressed on a daily basis by specially designated staff that will be operating out of the Minister ‘s office. It will not just be someone receiving messages. They will bring it to the attention of the minister and the responsible Engineer and responsible program manager will have to act immediately.”
The Ministry’s proactive stance demonstrates government’s dedication to guaranteeing timely action in response to public reports of inconvenient and occasionally dangerous circumstances. It is an additional step that is expected to expand the Ministry’s capacity to enhance the management of projects being carried out, by bolstering the regulatory and enforcement component of its work, while preserving the aesthetics of the nation’s corridors during construction periods.
