[www.inewsguyana.com] – North Georgetown (District 11) retained their swimming title to get off to healthy start in an effort to retain their National School Championships title.

North Georgetown topped North West which finished in second and Upper Demerara/ Kwakwani finished third when the event concluded on Tuesday, November 18 at the National Aquatic Centre, Liliendaal.

Team Manager, Mariska Williams was proud of the swimmers noting that they got the win despite the absence of star swimmer, Britany Van Lange.

Swimming official of the zone, Tiffany Hinds highlighted that the win was only the beginning of their title defence and stressed that the athletes have to remain focused in order to come away with the overall title.

Williams on the other hand was a bit more specific revealing that she will need the teachers to perform well in order to win the overall title.
