Six students received Bursary Awards from the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (NGPC) on Thursday at the company’s Head Office at Farm, East Bank Demerara (EBD), continuing an tradition which has started several years ago.
At a simple ceremony today, company officials encouraged recipients of the awards to strive to be the best they can in their academic endeavours.
Those receiving awards include: Kristen Bhola, Shauniyah Barkoye, Antonio Fields, Anupa Ragunauth, Leana Browne and Julian Mc Calmont. They are all children of employees of the company.
The students received cash and a hamper comprising of school items. They will continue to receive assistance from the company at the beginning of every academic year once they maintain a minimum of 55 percent each term for the next five years, and an additional two years if they choose to go on to Sixth Form.
