– synthetic track installation to begin next Monday
Culture, Youth and Sport Minister Charles Ramson recently conducted a site visit to the New Amsterdam Stadium in Region 6, Berbice, alongside a representative from German company Regupol, which is handling the installation of the synthetic track.
He was accompanied by Minister within the Ministry, Steven Jacobs, as well as People’s Progressive Party/Civic candidates Suresh Singh, James Bond, and Zamal Hussein—who are set to become Members of Parliament when the House convenes.
Minister Ramson informed the media that the track and field football stadium is approximately 85% complete, with installation of the synthetic track scheduled to begin next Monday.
The Regupol representative expressed satisfaction with the preparatory work and current weather conditions, both of which pave the way for installation, expected to take five to six weeks.
Ramson further noted that the project is in its final stages and, if favorable weather continues and the track is installed as planned, the facility will be ready for use in 2025.
