Investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 10:00hrs today Sunday March 06, 2016, on the No. 70 Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, which resulted in the death of motor cyclist Jewram Khublallchand, 45 years, of No. 75 Village, Corentyne.
Police, in a statement this afternoon, said investigations so far have revealed that the driver of a motor lorry attempted to overtake the motor cyclist who was hit by the tray of the lorry. Jewram Khublallchand was taken to the Skeldon Hospital where he succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
