Rehabilitation works are currently being executed on the first Acrow Panel Bridge located at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) and as such the bridge has been closed off to traffic until further notice.
According to the Public Infrastructure Ministry, alternative bypasses for this period are available to those who travel the route, and motorists as well as pedestrians are being asked to use them.
Also, all persons in the area are being urged to pay keen attention to all caution and directional signs.
“The Ministry of Public Infrastructure regrets any inconvenience caused and is working with the contractor H. Nauth and Sons to resolve this issue in the shortest time possible,” a statement from the ministry said.
