Minibus conductor accused of murdering Drug Store owner remanded to prison

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Minibus conductor accused of the murder of a Robb Street Drugstore owner in 2011 was today remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Orin Kevin Roberts of Lot 3 C Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was not required to plead to the capital offence of murder which alleged between August 18 and 19 in Georgetown; he murdered Harold Rachpaul during a burglary.

Police Inspector Michael Grant, prosecuting indicated that investigations are incomplete. He told the Court that as a result of new development in technology through the Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFS) at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the accused was charged.

The accused was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Adrian Thompson. The Prosecutor requested a date for report and fixtures and the case was put off to March 24.
