Miner/mechanic crushed to death by loader truck

21-year-old Wesley Morvin Patoir, also called ‘Bucky,’ a mechanic of Kwakwani Park in Region 10 (Upper Demerara- Berbice), was reportedly crushed by a truck in vicinity of the Kurubuku Mines, situated between Aroaima and Kwakwani, on Monday at approximately 15:00 hours.

The Police were summoned to the scene, and Patoir’s body was transported to the Kwakwani Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

According to the police who identified the man as a miner, “investigations have so far revealed that the victim was sitting inside the rear right wheel of a parked Loader Truck No. 773E unknown to its driver, when suddenly the 61-year-old driver drove off and in process the victim was hurled and his head crushed.”
