[www.inewsguyana.com] – A miner was today remanded to prison for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking by Magistrate Fabayo Azore. Forty – One – year old Albert Richards of Kuru kuru landing Mazaruni pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The court was told that on September 23 at his home, he had on his possession 35 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. Attorney – at – law Adrian Thompson represented the accused and in an effort to secure bail told the court that the police conducted a raid on his client’s home and that the the illegal item was found in the building.
According to the Attorney, the item was not directly found on his client’s possession but in the building which is occupied by several persons. The court heard that the police found the cannabis in the jeans pocket, which belongs to the accused. The Magistrate refused bail and Richards will reappear in court on October 04. [Royan Abrams]
