Man nabbed with suspected stolen bike, gel gun during Police patrol

A 25-year-old man was intercepted on Wednesday with a suspected stolen motorcycle and a suspected gel gun in the early hours of Wednesday at Flour Mill Road, Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

Based on reports received, at about 04:20h on the day in question, ranks from the Farm/Herstelling Police Station were on patrol along the Bagotstown/Eccles Public Road, EBD, when they observed the man riding a motorcycle with trade plates. The ranks signaled the motorcyclist to stop, but instead of complying, he allegedly rode away but later fell in the vicinity of Flour Mill Road, EBD.

He was subsequently apprehended and taken to the Farm/Herstelling Police Station, where it was revealed that the motorcycle is suspected to have been stolen and is believed to be connected to a report made in Regional Police Division Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara).

A search conducted at the man’s residence led to the discovery of a suspected gel gun. The motorcycle, a haversack with items belonging to the suspect, and the gel gun were lodged as investigations continue.
