A 56-year-old man was granted bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court earlier today, on a charge of breaking and entering.

breakAndrew Carter of lot 44 Station Street, Kitty, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that between September 13 and October 15, 2016 at Station Street, Kitty, he broke and entered the storage bond of his brother, Kester Carter and stole several items amounting to over $400,000.

When interrogated about his relationship with Kester Carter, the defendant replied “we are from the same bowel but we are not brothers!”

The prosecution had no objection to bail but requested that it be set at a substantial amount.

The defendant was granted $70,000 bail and is expected to return to court on November 7, 2016. (Ramona Luthi)
