Taje Singh, 45, who escaped from the Lusignan Prison this morning, has been recaptured.
He was found at a location at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) some 12 hours after he had escaped.
Singh, who was serving a sentence for unlawful wounding and larceny of a water pump, escaped from the penitentiary by jumping a fence.
