Fourteen Licensing and Certifying Officers of the Guyana Police Force, along with two representatives from the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), are today, undergoing training in the installation of speed limiters at the Officers’ Training Centre.
The participating police ranks, ranging from Inspector to Corporal, are being exposed to the requisite knowledge and practical procedures involved in the installation of the devices.
During today’s session, the participants were briefed by Aztec Global representative Ryan Allen ahead of the practical component of the training.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of Licensing and Certifying Officers as the Guyana Police Force continues its efforts to improve road safety and ensure greater compliance with established traffic and vehicle standards.
It was reported that the government was aiming to install 8,000 speed limiters on trucks to improve safety on the country’s roads
