Letter: If GECOM cannot cope then the staff should be replaced

0

Dear Editor,

I want to throw this out there – does it make sense that on one hand the constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, can sanction elections within 90 days but the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) on the other hand is allowed to deter and deny the holding of said election within the stipulated period?

If GECOM cannot cope with a 90 day’s mandate then the entire staff including the Chair, Commissioners and CEO must be fired and replaced with competent people.

Yours sincerely,

A.Grant
