The Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning, through the Board of Industrial Training (BIT), will host the National Youth Skills Forum and Skills Search Expo 2026 on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The event will bring together government representatives, employers, educators, training institutions, industry leaders and young people to examine the skills needed to support Guyana’s expanding economy and strengthen collaboration between the country’s education and employment sectors.
Panel discussions will focus on workforce readiness, apprenticeships, technical and vocational education, industry partnerships and the changing demands of the labour market. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from professionals representing a range of sectors on the skills employers are seeking in today’s workforce.
Complementing the Forum, the Skills Search Expo will feature exhibitors from government agencies, training institutions and the private sector, giving participants the opportunity to explore career pathways, learn about skills training programmes and engage directly with employers.
As Guyana’s economy continues to diversify, ensuring that people possess the skills required to fill available opportunities has become increasingly important. The Forum and Expo form part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote lifelong learning and support the development of a skilled and competitive workforce.
Students, job seekers, parents, educators, employers and members of the public are encouraged to attend. Admission is free.
