West Indies have announced a 14-member squad for their upcoming T20I series against Pakistan, with injuries and workload management prompting a few changes.
West Indies will take on Pakistan in a three-match T20I series to be played in Florida, USA, starting July 31. The first match is set to bowl off at 20:00h.
Star pacer Alzarri Joseph has been rested for the series, having featured prominently during the recent UK tour and the home series against Australia, which ended on 28 July.
Evin Lewis, who missed the final T20I against Australia due to injury, will remain unavailable for the T20I series against Pakistan, with his recovery being monitored ahead of the ODI leg beginning on 8 August.
Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King have also been ruled out after sustaining side strains during the final T20I against Australia, with King’s fitness to be reassessed ahead of the ODIs.
In their place, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, Shamar Joseph and Johnson Charles have been added to the squad for the T20I series.
West Indies squad: Shai Hope (captain), Jewel Andrew, Alick Athanaze, Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd.
