The Guyana Police Force has confirmed that 34-year-old Kevin Cadogan, who was injured in an alleged gas bottle explosion that killed his wife, has died.
According to the police, Cadogan was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) but succumbed to his injuries at about 03:30hrs today (Saturday, April 19, 2025) at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC).
The alleged incident occurred at around 00:30h on Friday at Moblissa, Linden Highway, during which both Cadogan and his reputed wife, 20-year-old Mezona Ronaldo, were injured.
Ronaldo died while being treated at the GPHC on Friday.
Cadogan’s mother told detectives that Ronaldo was caught on fire after a gas bottle exploded while she was cooking and that her son held onto the woman to put out the blaze.
However, the now dead woman’s family believes she was murdered, alleging that she was being abused by her husband.
