The man who allegedly fatally stabbed his reputed wife in a shop yesterday afternoon, was earlier today taken into custody, according to a source close to the investigation.
Reports are that at approximately 14:00hrs yesterday, 38-year-old Yansen Brusche of Ulverston, Corentyne, Berbice was making a purchase at a shop in the village, when the suspect who was armed with a knife, entered the said shop and dealt her multiple stabs about her body. He then escaped.
The victim was subsequently rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to the source who spoke with INews earlier today, the man is likely to be charged soon for the crime.
