Hundreds of house lots distributed in Region Six

Hundreds of families from across Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) today received their house lot allocations in the region.
The exercise took place at the University of Guyana Tain campus under the Ministry of Housing and Water’s ‘Dream Realised’ initiative.
“Residential lots in the soon-to-be-developed Hogstye, East Berbice Corentyne, and New Moleson Creek housing developments will be distributed to applicants with pending requests,” the ministry said in a statement.
It noted that billions of dollars have already been allocated for infrastructure development in these areas, with a pledge to make these lands available by the end of this year. Planned improvements will include land clearing, road construction, bridge building, and drainage infrastructure.
Once completed, the two new developments are expected to become the most desirable housing projects in the region, featuring modern amenities such as hotels, banks, terminal facilities, entertainment options, and restaurants, among others.

Meanwhile, at the event, more than fifty individuals who were previously allocated residential lots collected their Certificates of Title.
Additionally, another twenty families who are about to begin construction on their dream homes received the highly sought-after Cement and Steel vouchers. These vouchers allow recipients to redeem construction materials from selected hardware suppliers in the region.
