Five persons are now homeless after a fire gutted their two-storey Eccles, East Bank Demerara house.
Details surrounding the fire remain sketchy, but Inews understands that the fire started just after 09:00h today (Monday) in the upper flat of the building.
It is reported that a mattress is the source of the fire. However, firefighters were able to contain the blaze.
An investigation has been launched.
