Guyanese woman faces court for drug trafficking in Barbados

(Barbados Nation) A customer service representative is scheduled to appear at the District B Magistrates Court today to answer several drug charges. La-Toya Kenisha Smart, a 25-year-old Guyanese national, is charged with trafficking and importation of eight packages of cannabis weighing one pound.

courtAccording to a police media release, Smart arrived in Barbados on Saturday and was interviewed by police. A search was conducted on her luggage and the drugs were found in a hidden compartment.

She is also charged with possession and possession with intent to supply.
