Guyana Rotorcraft Services Inc. (GRSI) has officially achieved a landmark milestone, becoming the first domestic aviation company to secure a Rotorcraft Air Operations Certification in Guyana.
The achievement unlocks full commercial helicopter services across all administrative regions of the country. GRSI will initially launch operations using its recently acquired Bell 206 helicopter, with plans already underway to expand the fleet with multi-engine aircraft before the end of the year.
Beyond standard commercial charters, the company is set to fill a critical infrastructure gap by launching specialized Medical Evacuation (Medevac) operations. This service will target remote inland areas that lack traditional airstrips or overland road access, bringing rapid emergency response capabilities to underserved communities.
Commenting on the historic achievement, Capt. Tarick Ramnarace, CEO of the Mazahar Ally Group of Companies (GRSI’s parent group), reflected on the gruelling journey to certification:
“This certification was in the making for over 12 years and faced a lot of challenges, but with our dedicated team we never gave up, we kept the ball rolling.”
With its new certification in hand and fleet expansion on the horizon, Guyana Rotorcraft Services Inc. is positioned to significantly boost regional connectivity, resource transport, and lifesaving medical support across Guyana’s interior.
