
Several gunshots were fired outside the South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, home of Public Works Minister Juan Edghill on Saturday night.
Police investigators were seen at the location at around 22:00h, shortly after the incident.
While there has been no official reports on the shooting incident, no one was injured during the ordeal.
“The Lord has been our protector. The Edghill’s family is safe in God’s hands. Thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers,” Minister Edghill confirmed via a Facebook post just before midnight on Saturday.
This shooting comes some three weeks after a building at a Georgetown church property that is owned by Edghill was destroyed by fire.
Police had said that the June 1 blaze at the Outreach Ministries International – Winners’ Cathedral at Lodge, Georgetown, was arson after a male in a hooded shirt was seen entering glfhe building shortly before the fire started.
