Gold miner nabbed with 26.7lbs of cocaine charged, remanded to prison

Junior Anthony Greaves, a 44-year-old Gold Miner from Kitty Georgetown and Port Kaituma Water Front in Region One, was arrested on 2025-08-24 and charged on 2025-08-26 for Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking. Greaves was arrested at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport at Ogle, East Coast Demerara, after he was found to be in possession of 26.7 lbs of Cocaine.

He appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs, where the charge was read to him. The defendant pleaded not guilty. Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to 19th September 2025 for disclosure.
