The Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest), in partnership with the Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) and the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), on Saturday launched the ‘Brand Guyana Gondola’ at Massy Mega, Turkeyen.
Now a permanent fixture at Massy Stores Turkeyen and Providence, the gondola features a diverse range of certified ‘Made in Guyana’ products from more than 20 local businesses.
This initiative strengthens the visibility of Guyanese goods, expands market opportunities, and builds consumer confidence in local brands.
Guyana’s Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Peter Ramsaroop, welcomed the overwhelming response to the launch, describing it as proof of the growing recognition of Guyanese products both locally and internationally.
He also issued a call to action for Guyana’s hospitality sector, urging hotels, restaurants, and resorts to integrate ‘Made in Guyana’ products into their supply chains, thereby supporting local manufacturers while delivering an authentic Guyanese experience to guests.
Dr. Ramsaroop also emphasised that the initiative directly supports His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s vision of advancing sustainable agriculture and agro-processing, with the goal of creating resilient food systems, generating employment, and strengthening Guyana’s position as a leader in food production for the region.
Meanwhile, Go-Invest said it is set to begin negotiations with the Massy for certified “Made in Guyana” goods to be marketed in Caribbean stores.
Go-Invest said this expansion will allow Guyanese products to reach new markets in Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, St Lucia, St Vincent, Jamaica and beyond, amplifying regional trade and creating greater economic opportunities for Guyana’s agro-processors and manufacturers.
By expanding into Massy’s regional footprint, Brand Guyana is set to become a household name across the Caribbean, showcasing Guyanese quality, innovation, and culture to a broader audience, Go-Invest added.
