[www.inewsguyana.com] – Publisher of Kaieteur News, Glenn Lall, and Chartered Accountant Christopher Ram head a list of persons who were sued on Thursday October 10, by Town Clerk [ag] of the Georgetown Mayor and City Council, Carol Sooba for millions of dollars in rates and taxes owed to the city.
Only a few days ago, Mayor Hamilton Greene’s wife, Jennifer Basdeo Greenewas sued for over $10 million owed in taxes.
In documents obtained by iNews, it was revealed that Chris Ram owes the City Council in excess of $10 million for several properties on Waterloo Street North Cummingsburg, while Lall owes in excess of $5 million in taxes for their 24 Saffon Street, Georgetown property.
Only recently, the Kaieteur News published an article stating that a number of lawyers did not pay their taxes. That article has since been deemed inaccurate by the Guyana Revenue Authority.
