The Private Sector Commission (PSC) is pleased to announce the election of its new Executive Committee, following the successful hosting of its 33rd Annual General Meeting on Monday, May 20, 2025.
The newly elected members are as follows:
- Chairman – Captain Gerald Gouveia
- Vice Chairman – Kathy Smith
- Honorary Secretary – Clinton Urling
- Treasurer – Imran Saccoor
- Corporate Coordinator – Manniram Prashad
This Executive Committee will serve for the 2025–2026 term and will be responsible for driving the PSC’s strategic priorities, including promoting sustainable private sector development, enhancing public-private dialogue, and representing the interests of the business community at the national and regional levels.
A significant objective of the PSC under the new leadership will be the continued support for democracy and good governance, particularly through the Commission’s commitment to ensuring free and fair elections via its well-established Election Observer Mission.
The Commission proudly notes the historic election of Ms. Kathy Smith as the first female Vice Chairman in the PSC’s history, an important milestone in the organization’s ongoing commitment to gender inclusion and diversity in leadership.
The elected leadership represents a cross-section of the Commission’s diverse membership base, drawn from key private sector organizations across the country. These include corporate representatives, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and the Region 5 Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The PSC takes this opportunity to thank the outgoing Executive Committee for their leadership and service over the past year and looks forward to building on their achievements under the direction of the new leadership.
