The family of ex – GDF Coast Guard, Devon Gordon plans to appeal his death by hanging sentence, after he and two others were found guilty of murdering Dweive Kant Ramdass and dumping his body overboard after robbing him of millions of dollars.
The 12-member jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty against Sherwyn Hart, Deon Greenidge and Devon Gordon, yesterday – all former members of the Guyana Defence Force [GDF].
They were sentenced to death by hanging by Justice Franklyn Holders. The offence was committed between August 20 and 22, 2009 at Caiman Hole, East Bank Essequibo.
Gordon was represented by Attorney – at – Law Latchmie Rahamat. It is not clear if the others plan to appeal their conviction and sentence as well.
They have 14 days within which an appeal can be filed.
