An Enterprise Garden, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was on Monday remanded to prison when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts charged with gun and ammunition possession.
Andrew Budhu, 20, appeared before City Magistrate Annette Singh and pleaded not guilty to the offense, which alleged that on 8 July, 2016 at Wellington Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession one .9mm pistol and five matching rounds of ammunition.
The case file was not complete but the Police Prosecutor objected to bail. He was remanded to prison and will return to court August 3.
